The vetiver used in Perris Monte Carlo's Vetiver Java was found in Java, an island in Indonesia with dense rainforests on the damp slopes of the mountains, and thick bamboo woods in the west. Creamy-smooth and soft, vetiver is obtained from the roots of a tropical grass. Widely known and used since antiquity, it was first discovered by the people of India and recognised for its unique fragrance and therapeutic qualities. The essence of Javanese vetiver has a wonderful complexity: woody-rooty, bitter and smoky with an earthy note of great depth.
