Is the presence of oakmoss enough to make La Belle Hélène a chypre? The answer is yes, but...what we have here is a variety of chypre. A light one that comes complete with the sort of shimmering transparency* which has become perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour's signature of sorts.
*Transparency does not in any way mean 'thin', which is confirmed by the presence of the perfume's dense and lasting trail.
