Simply put, L’Iris de Fath, is the rebirth of a myth.
There are several iconic perfumes that have marked their own period in time; but one of the most emblematic of all is Jacques Fath’s Iris Gris (made by perfumer Vincent Roubert). Launched in 1947, it was the most expensive scent composition in the world owing to the use of exceptional raw ingredients. The iris accord - a material considered by many to be the diamond of the perfume world, owing to it's expense - was used at a very intense concentration, appearing in the heart of Iris Gris alongside a fluffy peach note. A unique combination of floralcy and gourmand aspects the sillage of Iris Gris rose in stature to the status of a myth when production stopped in 1954.
Absolutely timeless, over the years Iris Gris remained completely unique. Discussed regularly in hushed, enamoured tones it's formula has often been copied, but it's never been equaled. However, it was unthinkable to Jacques Fath Parfums' Creative Director, Rania Naim, that the perfume's precious heritage would remain inaccessible. So, under her supervision the brand launched an international competition amongst perfumers: to reproduce as faithfully as possible, this exceptional fragrance.
And thus, the myth of Iris Gris is now reborn, thanks to the handwriting of two young talents whose reconstruction work was unanimously chosen by an committee of industry experts: Patrice Revillard, Perfumer and Yohan Cervi, Creative Director of Maelstrom. Like a chrysalis turning into a butterfly, their perfume is now known as L'Iris de Fath.
